New guy with a 2005 center console question

Hello All,

I'm new to this forum as I just bought a pristine 2005 Tahoe LT after selling my 2002 Avalanche with over 220,000 miles. The Av stills runs great but I guess it was time.

Love the vehicle (Tahoe) but have to put a different HU in place of the Bose system for sure.

My question is - what has anyone done to their '05 to go into the two holes below the A/C controls? I guess one hole was for a cassette deck but surely someone on this forum has come up with a great use/modifcation for those two ugly holes.

Appreciate the feedback in advance. Pics would be fantastic.

I relocated my flip out touch-screen to the top hole below the A/C and then blanked out the factory radio hole. After I installed the rest of my system I put my amp controller in the factory radio location.

The touchscreen being low is nice because, most people cannot see the screen when they are driving by (including law enforcement).

Surely someone has managed to find a great use for the two holes in the center console besides throwing trash in them!!!

What year is your ride? Looks like possibly an '02. The '05 has two holes with no garage door over one of them.

I'm not even sure what accessories are supposed to go in those holes.

Yeah, it's on '02. Stock option on the bottom is a tape or CD player. The top i'm not sure what your's could have. I think it's just storage for tapes, CD's, or just a pocket for any number of spare electronic goodies that mine normally carries.
