I have had my SSV for a little over a year now. I love this truck, to death. As most of you love yours. I don't have a current pic to put up, but its a black SSV with a spot light, grey steel wheels, no luggage rack and has barn doors.

Of course its a 5.3, 4wd and seen its fair share of abuse. The truck was owned by the New Mexico State Police, and it was a K-9 unit. Lots of cleaning was involved when I picked it up. lol. But its a well maintained truck, with records and I am the second owner. Likely the 300th driver however lol.

My performance plans are pretty straight forward:
-Black steel wheels with 31's (protect that 10 bolt)
-Tune it (BB for sure)
-E Fans
-LT's
-Less restrictive muffler (open to suggestions. Flowmaster 50 seems popular)
-Cam it (Comp Cams 212-218)
-Stock ride height with new shocks. No lift. I ride off road about 30% of the time, but with the 10 bolt in the back, Autotrac in the center and IFS up front; crawling is not really in this truck's plans. Just fire roads and arroyo's for the most part.
-Custom front bumper/skid plate package
-Rear bumper that incorporates spare tire mount
-Luggage rack with lights
-Lights in the grille

I have already ordered a Vette servo to help my trans, but at 142k, I think its knocking on the door of failure, so its gonna get a bit beefed up at the rebuild, open to suggestions on that too.

Did the 4 hi mod a week after buying the truck, painted the grille black and managed to lose the front air dam on the highway a couple weeks ago. Its a work in progress.

I will put up some photos of it tomorrow. Thanks for the warm welcome and letting me lurk for a while.

Bought and painted a set of OEM steel 16's with black epoxy primer
Bought, mounted and balanced some 285/75/16's on those wheels, so it looks like a lift is needed....

Which brings me to the eBay lift. Bought and paid for, waiting for arrival. 5100's are next.

Sounds like you got a great set of plans already. I'm still researching what I wanna do motor wise, but I'm planning on going with calspeed intake, calspeed long tubes, dynomax muffler/exhaust system, blackbear tune, roller rockers, z06 cam/springs, lm7 e-fans, l92 throttle body, ls6 rails and ls7 injectors on my lq4 Silvy. I'm shooting for around 400hp to keep it daily driveable. The LS and "vortec" motors are awesome for performance and are very interchangeable.

If your looking into tranmission work, vetto servo like you installed is a good upgrade. I had the servo, a shift kit, better clutch packs and a stall on my 1995 Tahoe. Lot's of upgrade parts for the 60E transmissions. You can also swap to a 80E with some modifications.

Also, welcome to the forum!

A swap to an 80e will happen if I decide to boost the truck. I like Roots blowers, have one on my Saturn lol.

But as far as this truck goes, 400hp would be the shit. Heads, cam, tune, IM and a converter, maybe I can make it happen. But that is a ton of $$$ that I should spend somewhere else maybe.

Bang for the buck, cant beat a nice cam and tune I dont think :)

Thanks for the welcome too!
