New head unit...smh

So I bought a Kenwood ddx372bt to put in the Yukon (2005 denali XL) Bose & on star I bought all the access gmos 04 ( Bose& OnStar interface) & the swac01(steering wheel Control) to go with it it sounds nice.. I had to mess with the gmos4 to get it to sound good. When I first wired it , I couldn't turn it up without the speakers Poping and a ton of distortion. I checked all wiring connections and re did a few I wasn't 100% sure about. I did find one bad connection on a power wire that I believe took out my fuel gauge on the dash and my charge gauge after all the trouble shooting i f I turn it past vol 32 it still distorts, is this because of the factory Bose amp? Has anyone had any experience with gmos04? I did tune the equalizer and it didn't get any better ..

The gmos04 is a plug and play system that shouldn't take out any gauges. It's a straight up wire color for color. The kenwood only goes up to 35 so if it distorts at 32 then that should make sense. It's not designed to go full tilt like the under powered oem head unit. You need to do some more fine tuning to the head unit and you should be fine.

But like I said I believe the bad connection was the cause of that (my fault) the set up is quite nice. Was a little intimidating at first.

Gotcha I ran a similar head unit ddx492 (just like yours but an excelon unit with HD) in our 06 Tahoe and it sounded fine. It did at first sound poop-ish but with some tuning it so sounded way better.

Guess that's what I get for getting excited and rushing , I did some more tuning and it sound a little better , getting there
