And it comes with a mechanic?
Go pops!

Welcome from NY!

Yeah I am very fortunate and grateful my pops has been working on cars since he was a kid, built his own Camaro by the age of 17. I admit I did not even know how to change my oil until my mid 20's and I'll be 40 later this year lol. He's been mechanic forever and he's getting ready to retire down to South Jersey.. Now I get to hear him saying how badly he needs a garage down there and I am sure he will get it in time ;).

He's always found me my S10 Blazers. First vehicle I owned was a '92 S10 4 Door Blazer and I loved that thing, kinda "traded" up for a 1998 that was great until the trans blew shy of 260K. Last S10 I owned was a 2001 Jimmy Diamond Edition that we took an engine out of another S10 Blazer, I remember getting it with about 140K and that was the one got to about 310K.

Loving the Tahoe though! It's due for an oil change, glad he taught me how to check fluids and a few other things. But outside that and typical cosmetic silliness I have always been more of a computer/IT nerd. I just tossed on a pair of cheap tail lights and that's it for my cosmetic-ness until a few more weeks. I want to clean up the tailgate and drivers side rear fender.. I don't drive it hard or much I just need a daily driver for work and I work local fortunately.

Thanks for the kinds words everyone.. I am sure I will check back often. I am sure I will be asking for some advice down the road! :)

Very nice low miles rig you got there! We've had ours (2001 Yukon) for 20 yrs. now. Been an awesome rig. About 260k and running great.
When you removed the OnStar buttons, were there any codes or issues?
Thanks! I really wanted to do the oil & filter this week but it's supposed to snow tomorrow. Ugh, I miss the lift at work, we're not allowed to use it for personal vehicles anymore.

No Codes. I checked shortly afterwards, then cleared my 2 Knock Sensor codes (again). Of course the light popped back on after 50 miles or so and I rescanned and still just the 2 same codes.

I was a little worried but from everywhere and everyone GMT800 related folks just said "Rip it out!" and showed me where to get the phone mount. Of course I snapped and broke 1 of the clips for the mount when squeezing it in, but it holds up fine.

I read somewhere that OnStar used the 3G towers and Verizon or whomever took them all down in 2020. I hit the button a few weeks back just to see what would happen and it was some recording on a loop "Welcome to OnStar available 24/7, this is Lisa please call..." lol.

Welcome! Good looking Tahoe.

Make sure you test the new knock sensors before installing. I bought several acdelco knock sensors that were dead out of the box. Ended up buying delphi sensors and those were good. Several YouTube videos on how to test with voltmeter. Both sensors should produce a low AC voltage when tapped.
