I finally broke down and got a new headunit and amp for my mids/highs.

Headunit is Pioneer GM-X8600BS

Pioneer GM-D8604 4 channel

Front door speakers are Kicker DS series componet set.
Rear door speakers are Kicker DS series coaxil.
Rear pillars have a set of 1" dome tweeters as well.

I wired the 4ch amp to my door speakers with a 4pair speedwire and bypassed the factory amp at the amp plug by cutting the gray, tan, dark green, light green, light blue, dark blue, yellow and brown wires per the haynes manual that said they are the speaker wires. They all tested out perfectly with my battery. This is where i tied my speedwire in.

While there, I also relocated my sub amp AGAIN. lol. just put it in the rear storage compartment a few weeks ago when i had the interior gutted.

Now everything is mounted nice and neatly under the rear seat.

The truck sounds great. But why did i lose power to my rear pillars? Not sure if the RE 8 in the factory compartment has power because it is unplugged.

I will load more photos as my photobucket catches up.

Hope to make it to the depot early this week to get the MDF cut.
Hopefully have the box completely finished by the end of the week because I'm expecting the sub by then.

No big rush though, after the new head unit and some tuning my kicker is sounding awesome. Almost makes me regred dropping the cash on the DCyvu4yheb.jpg

Got the mdf all cut to my measurements.
The guy at home depot was SUPRISINGLY helpful. Took his time to precisely cut to my measurments.
Everything should fit nicely with minimal sanding.3y3y8u4y.jpg

Awesome! Did you figure out what your final measurements will be?
Its great when you can catch one of the employees that actually wants to help isnt it?

I'm curious How much you spend in Mdf it always seems like some pre fab stuff is cheaper than it costs to make.
