Yes it's at a dealership called regal auto sales. It's a buy here pay here place but it has good ratings with the bbb and google. Still fixing my credit and this is the only place that has "decent" vehicles lol that will work with me. Aside from down sizing my burb has some issues that are expensive to fix and I don't have the ability to repair my vehicle my self out side regular maintenance. Compared to other ones I've seen it's pretty clean. Very few scrapes and door dings on the outside. Typical interior wear like buttons are worn, but seats are not torn and heaters work, stereo plays normal but is missing the nav disk. All dash functions work good and no check engine lights. Ran it to autozone and the code reader didn't pull any codes. And it's rust free and in Kansas that's hard to find! Lol. Haven't checked kbb yet. When I looked it over everything seemed intact. Best looked good no sign of accidents on frame and spare tire was inn place. Couldn't see any leaks and didn't smell any funny on the test drive. Has good pick up and go and shifted smoothe. Did hear some noise from the front and had a slight shimmy. Air ride seemed to work correctly.

Thanks for the welcome guys and thanks for the info. Yeah we test drove it and I did notice that humming noise from the front end and couldn't tell if it was a CV joint or bad tires or the front diff. Everything worked on the interior was in pretty good shape which is what my main concern was. I looked underneath it and it didn't seem to have any frame damage so it doesn't look wrecked a run a Carfax on it when I get home. I was actually just getting started reading that link on the forum thank you for that. I guess we'll seedo you guys think 13 five is too much to pay for it

Jonathan, welcome you/yours to the forum, glad to have you. There is every color of car value books available, if I'm serious about a vehicle I want, I always call my Banker, they will tell you what LOAN VALUE is, that's what it's worth plus anything above that is PROFIT for the seller or cost of doing business. Good luck JMHO.

I agree that the price seems a little high, but that may be a premium you pay working with a buy here / pay here credit situation. I'm sure it's a hard call whether to keep the burb and save money while letting your credit heal, or taking on a car loan at a premium and making good on the payments which will also help improve your credit rating.

A few things that I missed before buying my Denali were:
  • Four broken exhaust manifold bolts (both of the front and rear most bolts)
  • Worn pitman arm, idler arm, and idler bracket
  • Most of the dash lights in the console & controls burnt out (didn't test drive at night)
  • Passenger Side and Rear HVAC air blend door actuators needed replacement
  • Oil Pressure Sending Unit (gauge read 40PSI at all times which I thought was good)
  • Steel spare tire rim was so rusted it didn't hold air for more than a few days
  • Three out of four batteries in the TPMS were dead (they typically have ~10 year life)
A few other maintenance related items have come up over the past year, but I have tackled them myself with the help of this forum and the countless youtube repair videos on these vehicles. If any of these things or similar items are failing on the Escalade, have them addressed or use them as leverage to get the price down low enough to have them taken care of.

Does anyone know of a thread were we track common age/mileage related failures and preventative maintenance? I was hoping that was what the sticky topic I linked to was, but looking through it now it seems like more of a specs listing.

Well since I'm not getting the caddy here is a picture of my 99 obs suburban. It's a gmc but my parts one was a chevy so I swapped everything over. But I think I'll be swapping back to the gmc stuff. Too many chevys around lol. Hope I'm still welcome on this forum since it's not a Yukon Tahoe or escalade lol

I'll post a few more up when the wife gets home! Yea she is my baby. Put a new raido in yesterday. I call it a get by because it was a cheep jvc just so we have muisc. My stereo guy is hooking me up with a kenwood double din for under 300 so I can't pass that up and I have en extra dash bezel for them to trim for the opening so I don't have to buy the 200 dollar one. I seen my twin in 2wd form yesterday and it was clean stock and slammed and that was my other sign to keep it. Not sure yet if I'm going up or down with it though. My wife wants me to lift it but I want to lower it.
