Just as a thought starter: Local dealer has 3 new Tahoes, 2 LS and 1 LTZ.
The LS's are $48,900 and the LTZ is $70,900. Same 4wd, same engine, same drivetrain, same body and frame, same 3rd row seats, nice aluminum wheels and decent tires, and the LS's are not strippers by any means but do have cloth seats and no sunroof. Wow, $21,000 for extra goodies? My thinking is a person who is a bit more limited on spending can get really the same truck at a more affordable value. Its not going to look as frilly, but is going to drive and ride the same, be just as quiet, and be new.

At 70k aren't you better off with a Yukon Denali? Bigger engine, mag suspension, sound proofing and higher grade trim? I'm not sure I understand the case for the LTZ.

GM is going after the Denali-type buyers with the tahoe LTZ and the yukon SLT for 2015. It (the '15 SLT) has 8 or 10 additional features the 14 Denali didn't have. They kept the Denali because some folks just want a Denali, plus you have to have it for the 6.2L.

Not sure about the '15 denali, but the 14 had different leather and additional insulation for a quieter ride. Now the '15 denali has Bose active noise cancelation that's not available on the Chevy. I wander if it has upgraded leather?

The LTZ has noise cancelling, magnetic ride, and bose 10 speaker surround. Check your facts. Also the console on the LTZ is the same as the Denali. The LTZ is essentially a denali without the 6.2
