Back - and need some help!
NEED SOME HELP HERE! Figured I'd try replying instead of starting a new thread...
Held off replacing the head unit to have MP3/Phone options until, well today. I bought the following from Crutchfield and had a local shop do the install.
JVC Double Din:

Metra VT-GMOS-04 Factory Integration Adapter: (to keep chimes and OnStar):

Axxess ASWC-1 (to keep steering wheel controls):

I was going to install it myself, but after reading the instructions with the steering wheel controls I decided to have the shop do it. It only took them an hour - would of taken me way longer, so well worth it (I thought).
My problem is - IT SOUNDS WORSE! All speakers are distorting when I turn it up past halfway or so. I NEVER had distortion with the factory head unit. I simply wanted the same quality sound (hoping for a little better actually w/ aftermarket receiver) and Phone/MP3 capabilities. I'm also not sure that the center console sub is working - sounds like all of the bass is coming from the Bose door speakers. I also tried toggling the sub on/off within the receiver menu - there was no difference.
The easy response would be to go back to the shop and have them fix it. To be honest - I'd rather go somewhere else, or figure it out myself. Right now I can't turn the stereo up loud enough to hear with the windows down without the annoying distortion!
Can anyone help??? Anyone have similar experience or problems?
Thanks!!
