Trading my '13 Ford SVT Raptor for a family truckster... No, I'm not crazy. Just married with kids. Wait, maybe that makes me crazy? ;-)

Anyway, I'll have a 2016 Yukon XL SLT with trailer package, open road, stock 18" wheels (hopefully less susceptible to buffeting?), black on black early next week.

I took a white SLT on a long test drive and didn't notice any buffeting at any speed. Fingers crossed that I don't have that issue, but what's the alternative? I love Ford, but the Expedition looks like a grocery getter.

Anyway, here I am.

Let me ask...I know you said the test drive did not, but have you been in a yukon or suburban and experienced the buffeting? It seems that some folks just don't feel/hear it while others are really affected by it.

I haven't. I'm used to driving big, loud trucks. The Yukon drove more like a car - it was whisper quiet. No weird ear pressure or anything for me, though.

My dealer messed up and the truck he found lacked heavy duty towing. New search underway, and may end up custom ordering. I guess I have to suffer with my raptor a while longer. [emoji11]

Ugh. No Yuk XLs anywhere that are black with heavy duty tow and 2nd row buckets. Seems like GM likes to pair heavy duty tow with bench seats. I'm gonna have to do a custom order, looks like.

Since I get to pick out everything, anyone running the Borla catback? Worth $1k?

or just purchase and swap for buckets later. That's what I did and it takes 20min to do the swap.

thats pretty interesting, when I got the wife's escalade and was shopping denalis, finding a bench was a nightmare, they actually swapped the bench into it for me and pulled the buckets. I don't think you'll have a hard time finding someone who wants your bench if you go that route. The suburban has buckets, since I usually have the third row out its a 4 seat truck, the caddy is the planned baby mover, and since the 3rd row will be folded, and a child seat a 3 seat truck sounded really really stupid. My only regret was getting a shorty, I have a feeling we'll outgrow it in a few years if more kids come our way, but the esky was enough of an adjustment for her from her maxima. Even though these days she even says your truck rides nicer than mine with 130k miles, why? I said wheelbase honey, that and you stab the pedals like a crazy soccer mom.

On a side note, I"m pretty sure there isn't a max tow package for the denalis, they're all setup to tow, might be an option for you if you can find a deal on one. (the stupid caddy on the other hand doesn't come with an integrated brake controller, have to use a pigtail and aftermarket)
