So I took a 200 mile round trip today in my new 2026 Yukon AT4 and set the super cruise on 75 and was cruising along on I-10 in the center lane which is 3 lanes and came upon a car doing around 70 and the super cruise all of a sudden looked at the camera on the left side and changed lanes on its own, passed the car and then went back to the center lane and kept going 75...has anyone else noticed this? I ask because my 2025 Yukon Elevation never did that ever!

Sorry if my answer offends BUT, I would never ever have a vehicle that does anything close to that. I don't even like to use cruise control. You own a vehicle, so, drive a vehicle. You are the owner and the boss of that vehicle.
Again, if "Super Cruise" is something you like, you are the owner and deserve to use it.

Yeah, the first time it did it it took me by surprise and scared me a little and then it did it several more times and I got used to it. To each his own and I really do like the Super Cruise.

BTW we lived in the "Willamette Valley" (Salem) for many years

In Eugene. Am looking to move out of this place, after 20+ years and move to Junction City, Harrisburg, Brownsville, Oakridge, Sweet Home, Monroe, Florence, Walton, Mapleton.....etc. Just away from here.

Springfield shares a border with Eugene and they do not allow homeless panhandling and hanging out on the streets. But still too close to Eugene.

Yep, I know exactly where Springfield is used to work there and one of my sons was born in Eugene

I dunno, out in the middle of nowhere running on super cruise getting a little hungry you could just make a bologna sammich and never stop. Might not be too bad.

Have this picture of Clark Griswold in southern Texas trying to get the mayonnaise on the bread just right. doesn't notice super cruise shut off cuz of a coyote or roadrunner.
Car slowly drifts over to the oncoming lane and he suddenly notices shi* is going wrong. Grabs the wheel as the tossed sammich sticks to the windshield, slams on the brakes and slides to a stop in the parking lot of some bar named Dusk Til Dawn.

I don’t have super cruise but I’ve been aware of this feature on super cruise for awhile now where as it will do a lane change if needed as long as the traffic allows it.

Yep, mine has done it from the beginning. Supercruise is a little scary at first, but the more you use it the better it gets. It's not for everyday driving situations, but once you get out on interstates or main roads and you have miles ahead of you.... Works pretty excellently.....

I'm old school for sure, and I LOVE to drive, actually 'drive' the truck, versus just sitting in my seat watching the scenery go by outside on my window. I will never change, and that is just fine with me. If I want to go somewhere, and not be the driver, I'll take an Uber.

As stated above, if Super Cruise is a feature to you, then go for it, for sure. Judge not, and you shall not be judged.

came upon a car doing around 70 and the super cruise all of a sudden looked at the camera on the left side and changed lanes on its own, passed the car and then went back to the center lane and kept going 75...has anyone else noticed this?
You can turn lane changes off under settings on your screen if it’s not your cup off

If super cruise senses you doing anything other than watching the road it shuts off so I don’t think Clark’s gonna get that mayo perfect

Yes. It auto lane changes if you approach a slower vehicle. AND it also moves out the lane of the car coming up behind you is traveling faster, allowing that car to pass you.

Yep! Drove from NY to Missoula MT. 2450 miles. I only had to touch the steering wheel for about 200 miles of that trip when getting off at exits to eat or use the restroom. Letting the car do most of the lane keeping and speed helped to drive further each day. I felt WAY more alert and refreshed when we got to our hotels each night.

Yes, as other have said, you can turn the lane change feature off in the settings menu, while still retaining the hands-free driving feature of SC ... it then keeps you in your lane, unless you decide to manually control any overtaking. Did/does your Elevation have SC, or just adaptive cruise control?

I understand SC is not for everyone. I do a lot of highway driving and I find I'm less tired, and more alert, with SC. I find I can anticipate, and carefully monitor, the overtaking events. In my opinion it's great in light to moderate traffic, but I do turn it off when things get too busy ... to avoid any "I'm not sure I would have changed lanes into that space" moments. That being said, I'm impressed by the abilty of the sensors to pick things up and the algorithms the system uses to safely track the other uses on the road, including moving over for traffic coming down an on-ramp In 20,000 miles I have probably had to intervene and take back control less than a handful of times. So impressed with SC in our Yukon that I made it a requirement for my new Sierra!!

Both my "traded-in" 2025 Yukon Elevation and my new 2026 Yukon AT4 had/have Super Cruise, so maybe the 2025 had the lane change feature turned off because it never did change a lane on its own automatically like the AT4 does.

I have been more than annoyed with Supercruise. To often it tells me to take control because no road info was available.
