The only thing I would add here is that the dealer can submit it, but it doesn’t get officially accepted until the dealer gets an allocation, and if you have something on constraint, that could be months or longer. The way I understand it…you go to the dealer and place the order…they will configure your build and enter it into GMs system. like the other post said, at this point it’s been accepted by GM, but there isn’t a build date given because GM only moves forward when they have given the green light in the order to proceed…this is where the allocations come in…a dealer may have 20 Tahoes in line to order but may only get one or two allocations a week and then those are trim specific…so if the dealer only has high country and premier orders and they are allocated a Z71, those other orders get passed over
My order was submitted, and it hasn’t been officially accepted because of the performance package constraint, and my dealer hasn’t been given any allocation yet for the small amount of those they’re letting through. My order status code is still 1100.
These distribution really just change how you can order a vehicle. If it’s really been accepted already, then usually they indicate on where it will have something or not based on the production date.
