So I just had my mechanic hook up his thingy (that's the technical term of course) to the OBDII on what MIGHT be my new 2008 Taho LTZ, and see what kind of error codes are being generated. Here was his findings. Some of the text is actually being translated from his handwriting...lol

C0774 - Low Tire
B1011 - Invalid Data
B1325 - Device - Essentially a REALLY crappy battery. Brand is "Volt Edge" any recommendations on good batteries, especially if I do dual batteries? I dont think I really need to have 2 Interstates.
B0081 - First Row Center Seatbelt Load Limiter Deployment Control
U0199 - Lost communication w/ door control
B2555 - Dome Lamp Output Circuit Short to Battery
B2645 - Ambient Light Sensor Circuit
P0573 - Brake Switch "A" Circuit High

He also looked under the Tahoe and saw...

Transmission fluid leak behind the bumper in the from passenger side corner on a hose. Noticed fluid on the Pan/Servo Cover/Dipstick.

Rack and Pinion is leaking a little
The back doors have rust on the inside that is part of the wheel well and the rust is under the paint on the front side of that same area, all the way around the semi circle.

AC is not working. He thought either a leak or compressor not working. He did check and got 86psi but said he'd have to empty the freon, refill it and go from there to really check it out. I did notice that turning on the fans on the way home, did blow cold air, but the pully in the front of the engine wasnt turning. I mean there is a ring in the pully that the belt is turning, but the whole pully doesn't rotate. Should it?
He got something about the break stop lamp switch, which he said explained why I noticed no cruise control.
He also got something about the automatic level control relay and that it can drain the, REALLY crappy, battery in about 6 hours.

After all of that, I could have him fix it all for $1500 or less. Sounds like it'd be closer to $1200. He also said that he wouldn't pay more than $11,000 for it. I have no problem spending the money to get it all fixed, but is it worth it? I mean over all its a beautiful truck, but I dont want to be throwing my money away either. Any advice or words of wisdom here? Any help would be very much appreciated :)

Those codes were stored or all were current as of now. That seems like a headache

Well, I decided against this one, and I am glad I did. I ended up going to another dealership as the previous one was a bad experience and I didn't want to give them my business. I went to look at 2 other Tahoe's over the weekend, and that was the best decision I have made in a long time. :)

I test drove 2 Tahoe's, fell in love with both of them, and took one home so that My mechanic could give it all a look and make sure it was all good. Well, I will be purchasing my first hoe now as of tomorrow or Wednesday. Ill post some hoe picks.

She's an '09 with 144,000 has NO rust even on the inside of the doors by the wheel wells, only has some maintenance stuff to be done, flawless interior other than the 12v lighter chrome pieces are flaking, and that's about it. :) getting it for $12,998

Sounds like it might be the winner. Nice work waiting and being patient. Hopefully all works out once you have her full time.

Very glad I waited. Not to mention I'm so ready to be done looking. I hate car shopping. I don't mind getting a new car, it's just the process you have to go through to get there.

Holy crap, prices where you live are nuts. One I saw last week: 15k for a 2010 LTZ 4wd with 85k
