just got a 1999 Z56 PPV Tahoe. 160 k. 2ooo $

what tires and oil should I use ? and how many quarts ?

I also need a fly wheel and pulleys i believe . fly wheel makes noise.

found good ridge steel brake lines for 103 $ online.

I would like to do the SSBC rear drum conversion kit. eventually .

my other question is to owners of the same vehicle I have.

I was wondering if someone could take pictures of the backside of the UNITY police spot light that the 1997 to 1999 Z56 PPV Tahoe came with. I would like to see the numbers so I could try to purchase a used one. My Tahoe had one but it is no longer there .

THANK YOU for your response !

Cool score for 2 grand, congrats!
I use Mobil 1 5w-30 in mine for past 13 yrs and never had problem.
As for tires, what do you plan on doing with the 'hoe?

I have run mobile 1 in my 2009 pilot since new and it still runs like new.

I will be using the Tahoe for road trips and a short 3 to 4 mile trip to work.

I will run mobile 1 in Tahoe when ever the time comes to rebuild the vortec.

thanks for your replies !!!

Thats a really sweet purchase... Get u sum firehawk street tires... Its wat most Departments use... I use Valvoline max life full synthetic 10-30w... You'll probably need 6-7 quarts... Since u have an oil cooler it adds a quart or 2 more...

SSBC is way over priced... If u contact this guy kingtekperf on Ebay he can put a kit together for u for half the price... http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=350209874828 < this isnt the kit u want but just a reference... U PPV hoe should have a 5 lug G80 posi rear with 11 inch drums beefer rear end out of a Burb... Sunlit can verify that for u if u can give him ur VIN#... By the way does ur hoe have Dual batteries..?
Post up sum pictures of her...

yes, I do have dual batteries Monstar_est87. why do you ask ?

Cause he is trying to get the same even tho he has a big smog pump in the way where the second battery would go. If you have the same smog device, post pics of how it is all fitting together in there please.

Also typically the oil cooler does not really drain very fast if at all. It kinda holds it fluid for a while and will never drain completely. A shop once thought they needed to a a quart on top of the specified five because the oil filter was changed to as well as one for the cooler. Oil change outs go pretty quickly so as a result is was never completely purged of oil. As a result 1.5 qts overfilled after the first 5.

Yes wat Sunlit said... And I usually jack up the passenger side and let it drain for an hour... And throw in 6 quarts never ran into over filling issues or high oil pressure myself but if sunlit says 5 quarts then 5 quarts it is...

And yea post up sum pictures will ya..? We all drool over ppv hoes... We need interior, exterior, engine, gauges, power supply, do u have ca smog..? Like sunlit said I want another battery but have smog equipment...
