I purchased my first ever GMC product in October of 2011 - bought a used 2007 Denali XL with 20K miles, excellent condition. I've owned nothing but Fords in the past and lemonded my diesel Excursion prior to picking up the Denali. So far, I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It's made me wonder why I didn't consider GMC many years back....the Yukons and Tahoes in general are much better in the aesthetic and interior apt category than their domestic counterparts.
One of the things I noticed right away is with the transmission (or something drive train related). On occasion, when coming to a stop, there is a pretty good thump which can be both heard and felt. Not sure if it's transmission, drive shaft, slip yolk, etc related. I took it to the dealer once, asked them to check for any error codes or TSBs, not much help. They couldn't verify the concern as it doesn't happen consistently, which makes it very difficult to troubleshoot.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any thoughts as to what I can suggest to the dealer to look at?
Other than this, the vehicle runs very well. I'd like to consider a few "easy" mods, ones that will offer the most bang for the buck. Any suggestions along this line would be appreciated. It would be nice to open it up just a bit, get a little better response from the throttle down low. Not sure if a new CAI is a good idea, or something else. If there are any suggestions for a few easy DIY mods that won't break the bank, I'm all ears.
