Scored an amazing deal off of the Evansville, IN craigslist today. Went down for a Family X-mas Party and came back with these:

They are the exact same wheels i had on my Tracker before i bought the Tahoe. they need a good cleaning and the black paint touched up but are in really good shape other than that. Have to find some tires to throw on the for the winter since these are 15's and my normal rims are 16's.

So you guys up north have to keep a set of rims and tires just for winter? Is it because the salt eats the rims or do you guys run studded tires or something?

Salt eats the chrome. i'm in a city that uses more salt than basically anywhere else in Indiana.

Yeah here in Michigan you gotta have a set of winter rims if you have nice chrome rims for the spring/summer.

Salt? What's salt? :D We get snow and ice down here in southern Missouri, but we just use cinders and chat, no salt. No worries here!

Keep going North boys. Our MTO stops using salt at -10c or below and switches over to some sort of calcium liquid solution. What ever that stuff is, it leaves my black truck white, and gums up the mirrors, windows, etc. I've heard rumors that this liquid is less corrosive than salt, but who knows. All I know is that I have to go through car washes to get it off, and then my doors freeze. :(

I too run my stock 16's in winter on winterforce rubber, and then my fancy 17's for summer. I've often thought how nice it would be to have aluminum rims after 10yrs and not have them all pitted and gross looking. but I'll never know. Damn calcium liquid!

BTW, those are some really nice looking rims. Good score.

They use that liqiud crap here as well. i don't buy the "its safer than salt" arguement at all. both have been hell on my tahoe. have some rocker rust that HAS to be taken care of this spring, driver side is horrible (complete new rocker and door skin), pass side atleast needs painted. thinking about having all the Silver covered with Line-X after its fixed as well as the new winch bumper.
