I am thinking of selling my 00 Escalade in search of a newer 02-05 Escalade but would like to know what I need to look out for? Any particular things I need to be on the look out for?

I know this is a loaded question but how many miles is just too much when buying used?? Dont get me wrong if I could afford a 2005 or 2006 with 20K I wouldnt be posting rite now! On the other hand I cannot wind up with a POS thats worse then what I have now......What do you think? 75K 85K?? I dont commute more then 25 miles (both ways) so its not like I will accumulate a ton of miles in a short time.

Thanks in advance for your help!

well whats wrong with the 00 esky?? IMO if its paid off you can do alot with just half of what a 02-05 will cost you. whole new drive line would be under 5k if you did it your self. then if it was rough on the outside another 5k in paint and body and you would practically have a new truck.

Honestly its the biggest POS I ever owned....well almost anyway. I do not like the way it handles, its slow as s*-T and stops even worse. Did I mention a fuel pump every two years and the 8-10mpg I get in the city! lol

Before this I had a 99 Navigator which was nite and day in every shape and form!

The body on my escalade is pretty darn good, it could use two new front seats and either an intake manifold gasket or maybe even a head gasket.

I am sick of this thing!

I really dont have the cash for another truck but this thing has to go!

unknown at this time.
Most cases shops will do it for free as a diagnosis. I mention this becuase before mine went out some fool tried to install a shift kit halfway complete hence leaving the pressures to high before I bought it. The damn thing felt boggish at any WOTand fuel mileage was between 8-10 mpg. well eventually, and right when I was leaving Cali, the pressures cracked an internal piston and the chattering began. After the rebuild with everything back to normal I left the shop with one fast and dirty Hoe.
