As a kid, I lived up in Hillsdale, then moved to Little Ferry.

Used to live in Teaneck,Lodi,Secaucus and in Hells Kitchen near the Port Authority in Manhattan. Thinking about going back in the 12-24 months as I had enough of this 24/7 jungle humidity. I am soaked in sweat after 30 seconds after walking out of my front door and getting out of my Tahoe.

Funny you should mention that. Last Halloween, I moved my sister and her family along with my Mother (who I had moved from Chicago to Portland, ME a year and a half earlier), from Portland to Orlando. So we were getting snow here in Chicago on October 31st, I was in Orlando in a swimming pool and the weather there was the equivalent of what June or July was here normally. I can't imagine what June/July/August is like there.

I hope to add, I spent ~15 years in a Chevy dealership service department.

Tacking on to my original thread. Got the new whip on Friday;

Being unloaded off the truck;

At home in the driveway;

So then Saturday I started my "personalization" of it;

Put some LED tails in (they look better at night, it was too bright to get a good view of the light);

Got rid of that crappy/flimsy K&N FPIK with a Volant intake. I'm not sure if this intake is that much better than the K&N, but between this and cleaning the MAF and TB, which was filthy, she ripped on a test drive;

I leveled out the front end and fixed the vent visors. The two rears were completely broken and have new ones on, the fronts were able to be fixed.

So that's my story. Some things I need to address, some things I got more for my money (the mirrors alone).

Things I have been annoyed by;
- The filthiness of the vehicle
- The ancient video system (VHS) crappily wired in to the vehicle, including a 3 year old level quality install of monitors in each head rest
- front fog lights lens smashed
- husky liners all balled up
- really nasty amounts of negative camber, primarily drivers side, and the dealership on their inspection, let that fly...

Things I have on the docket;
- Truck side plow equipment and wiring
- New tires, one size bigger than they had on their and two sizes bigger than OEM.
- Alignment
- All new lighting
- New headrests (well used off fleabay) coming
- new rear shocks
- removal of all the junk A/V equipment
- LED dash lighting
- Weathertech liners
- Cooling system flush

Looks good in the pics. I see you got the 8.1--Nice. That Volant PowerCore is much better imo. I also have the Volant PowerCore with the lower air scoop, and I love it. Just giving it 1/4 throttle sounds like you're flooring it. You might be able to sell those monitors here in the classifieds.
I'm not sure if I'm understanding correctly--but if the weathertechs are messed up, turn them inside out for a day, then turn them right side out. They should be ok after doing that.
That was a nice ppv on there too.

Yes. My criteria was 3/4 ton, big block, 4.10's, LT. This one came along with less than 100k on the clock, I jumped.

We'll see on the monitors. This was a VHS system. :D So they're probably WAAAAyyy out of date.

The liners are currently Husky liners. They're all balled/rolled up around the edges. For now they'll work, but once the slop starts flying here, I will want the Weathertechs'.

Having had a 8.1 I can tell you 2 things that help:
1. New Muffler- Get a Flowmaster BB50 with 2 in and 2 out pipes. Deep rumble and will uncork about 5-10 hp. Your OEM muffler is a cork.
2. Hypertech tuner will give you about 500 rpm up top and about 0.5 mpg-seriously.

Enjoy
