Hello everyone, I ve been looking and drooling for a tahoe 3gen for a long time already .
It’s been also long time i keep searching and checking on auctions and I keep trying get the perfect one, with push bumper, spot light, white color and with all seats, would be perfect if also i could get with those jump seat in the front . But I need the 4wd one.
And I ve searched a lot and seems like the ppv 3 gen ones only come in 4wd standard height and 70 profile tires.
So my questions are..
is there any tahoe ppv for pursuit with these 60 profile tires and lowered exactly these ones I only find on 2wd?
Then if not my other question is..
would work the same way if i get one of these ppv 4wd and swap the whole wheels lower profile 60 and also the lowered suspension struts and shocks?
Because I was thinking what if I do these changes but the whole balancing and alignment system is also changed and if would not have the same handling and safety on highway high speeds? Them I guess I would be stuck to the necessity of buy two PPVs, lol what is not a bad idea.
But for now I really got no space available for parking, got some other type of cars also.
Money I do have but I earned it sweating a lot. So if I could If try do these swaps.
So in this case I though about buy the cheapest ppv in 2wd that i could find, take these parts and after the swap try sell it. But if i decide to keep lol them better really just get 2.
The main thing also that is giving me some more will to do that is due to a stupid corolla that keeps burning fuel, last night fueling up it did 13.8 mpg. I even said a tahoe would be cheaper lol. I still want to fix that corolla do i could sell it and get my tahoe even quickly.
I appreciate if you guys have some advice based on your experience and things you guys and gals seeing on ppv tahoe world.
Ive done a lot of research but mostly about stock tahoes and ppv that is available on google. Another thing i tried research a lot was the afm issues.
So I just thought about get a low mileage one and do the tune and if one day it goes bad just replace engine for a non afm one.
I keep a look in here.
I though that would be great I could ask directly the guy who made the changes on Tahoe for ppv since the first years of this generation . But also maybe this person is here. Who knows?
Oh and before I forget also. Ive seen on auctions one or two Tahoe 3gen z71 being used by LEO, but i think was just an stock z71 tahoe. What you guys know about that? Is there a tahoe z71 also ppv modified?
One more question. Is ppv engines cast iron block instead of aluminum block? I didn’t get this right on my researches as well. Thank you , out!
