I'm a single mom with a 2001 Tahoe. Something suddenly snapped in the transmission while ascending an overpass in cruise control, and I had to have the transmission rebuilt. Since getting it back, I've noticed a delay in shifting around both 30-35 mph and 50-55 mph. The engine revs, rpms jump, but it feels and sounds like the clutch is delayed in releasing at those two points. Once the clutch(es) release, the engine has great power and shifts well. I brought it back within 3 days for the mechanic to address the problem, and he reprogrammed the computer. It was slightly better, but within a few days was doing the same thing. I am getting the run around from the mechanic and only have a one year warranty. I am trying to hold on to this vehicle as long as possible because it has been amazing and I have kept up the maintenance and records really well. The body and interior are in really good shape for it's age and I would be in a bind if I had to purchase a new car. If anyone has any ideas of where to start looking, please let me know. Thanks!
