Having the 2011 Tahoe brought back to stock height. It has the Z71 off road package and was wondering which size tires would look nice in that big ass wheel well. Have a friend at Big O tires and he thinks the 275/50/20 would look and ride nice. Any thoughts on this size and how it looks in that whell well would be greatly appreciated. Any thoughts on Terra vs Trail grappler? Thanks.

Do 305s man you won't regret it. As for Terra vs Trail grapplers, Trail Grapplers looks 1000x's better IMO.

Yeah I like the trail grapplers but they are a grip more than the terra. Just need a descent snow and camping tire. Would 305's rub at stock height?

X2 on the trails. They perform much better too. I've ran both in various sizes.

do you have stock 20's? if so, i wouldn't run a 305. too wide for the factory rim and will wear like shit. 275 55 20 is the oem tire size so i wouldn't want to run a tire smaller than that. 275 60 20 is a very common f250 tire with lots of choices there. terra grapplers are awesome tires and ride like silk on the highway and perform decently off road. its a much more practical tire. if your going for looks, the trail grappler is also another choice. but the smallest size in a 20 is going to be a 295 55 20. which may or may not rub and will also cost a lot more than the terra grappler.

i work at discount tire by the way, so i kinda know what i'm talking about. just listing some options for you.

I think it will be 20' AX 188's or XD series 788 I think. I'm selling the Tahoe to my little bro, he wants a tire that fills the wheel well and looks nice at stock height. Doesn't want to lift it but he will be off roading for dirt biking, towing boats and driving in Tahoe snow. Current it has 305/40/22's that gotta go. He just wants a good looking meaty tire

305's won't run at stock height. Well Terra Grapplers are good too, I just like the design of the Trail's better.

IMO stock height stick to 275/50/20 and even then you might have a little rubbing on the front valence. Z71 front valence is a little more space restrictive than stock which does not make sense. I think 60 series will be pushing it at 32.99 inches, and 55 series might fit at 31.91 inches. I have the Trails at 285/65/18 (32.59 inches) and I had to trim the front valence by ~2 inches even with the 2.5" level kit.

Since you mentioned snow, I would go with the Terras. The Trails are ok, but on hard packed and ice they are fair (but good as far as MTs go).

With a 1.5inch spacer in the front would a 285/55 rub a little? Sorry for all the simple questions, new to all of this. Overall the car wont have a lift kit ever installed, just want a mean look without having to raise it. Don't wanna get new tires and have it look goofy. It will have a 20' rim, unless that seems too big.
