I know from pesonal experience that other vehicles that Borla systems do have drone. Looking forward to hearing your review with it on your Tahoe, maybe this system is different.

i thought a Borla was basically a straight thru design, and those did not normally drone

and drone was from "baffled" mufflers, like flowmasters, with the walls in the middle?

yep, be glad to hear your comments.

we did 39.00 hours on our Tahoe last week (upstate NY and back).
wife was in 3rd row, said our JBA was annoying back there on hills.

The GMPP borla system is a straight thru design. I had a touring one on my Sierra and loved it but wanted a little more sound out of it so that is why I got the Performance system. Only difference is there is less packing in the muffler. If it is too loud I can get the touring muffler for $100 shipped and still be way ahead on price compared to the new kit.

If I get it in time I will be driving 5 hours on it to make my first impressions.

where did you find the new kit for $500 shipped, from a local dealer? Don't mean to hijack the thread but does anyone know if the GMPP kit, installed by a GM dealer effect my bumper-to-bumper warranty?

No, it will not affect your bumper-to-bumper warranty because it is a GM part. It also comes with its own 12 month/12,000 mile warranty, as do all GM Accessory parts. Additionally, this exhaust would be covered by insurance because it is provided by GM.

Thats what I thought, any ideas where to find these parts online, or is the best thing to go directly to the dealer?

Ok a little update. I installed the system over the weekend up north at my inlaws place on the lift. Install went great and was happy with the sound. Until I drove 5 hours home today and it was too loud for my liking and my wifes. So I just ordered the touring muffler from borla and I will swap the mufflers out to tone it down some.

I will be selling the SLP resonator delete kit and when I get the touring muffler I will be selling the performace GMPP muffler. If interested let me know.

Just the volume. It was too loud on take off at times and when it was louder when it went into V4 mode on the freeway.

I loved the tone of it and was really happy at first until I had the 5 hour trip home. It was to loud at times.
