how was the volume on the freeway when it wasn't in v4 mode (my tahoe doesn't have that since it is a 2004)? I was hoping it would be like the Corsa ones and be very very quiet on the highway...

Ok another update.

I just swapped out the performance muffler to the touring muffler today and am very happy with it. It has a mild sound to it on acceleration which is what I wanted and is whisper quiet cruising on the freeway and I can not tell when it switches to V4 mode. only difference between the two is the touring one is bigger in diameter but it is still a straight thru design so there is no restriction. After installing the kit i noticed it has better throttle response and you can tell the engine is performing better.

how loud is the touring muffler? I am thinking about putting this on my 2004 Denali and dont' want it dead silent

It is NOT dead silent. It has a nice rumble on throttle and is hardly noticable when on the freeway. To me it is perfect.

how about at idle and such?

on start up it is a little loud but mellows out and you hear a little rumble at idle. When my wife drives it I can hear it start up and drive away from inside the house. I have no drone at all in the cabin.

Did yours come with a tip? I just got one on ebay without a tip for $260 shipped. great deal IMHO. I want to have a tip here waiting for it when it arrives. Which tip did you go with? What is the exhaust pipe outside diameter? Any help would be great.

I bought it as a lightly used kit and it came with the tip. It was the angled tip and I turned it 90 degrees so the angle faces out the side.
