I had no idea that they actually tuned them more aggressively, I have never read anything about it either. I thought it was with the gearing and performance enhanced suspension is what set them apart from the standard Tahoe's.

I bought it directly from the highway patrol and paid quite a bit less than 10, we bought our wife's car from them several years ago to.

I'll have to go check when it was serviced. But, thanks for the info. I'll be getting ready to do a complete fluid change within the next few weeks.

Why do you recommend an Airaid Jr? I was going to go with a stock drop in K&N syle filter.

Well, I'm running roughly 70mph at 2100+rpms with a 28 1/4" tall tire. I had something very close in size in my previous Tahoe and I was nowhere near 2k rpms cruising at 70, I was a lot closer to 1500rpm if I remember correctly.

C&L Garage is the Highway Patrol office on Blue Ridge Road. It sounds like you may have bought one at State Surplus on sealed bid. NCSHP's SOP states that they send any vehicles which don't sell for the asking price to State Surplus to sell on sealed bid. Did you buy that '07 that went for 7 or 8 thousand just recently?

Here is some good info on the Airaid Jr. By far, the best bang for the buck out of all they tested.

I never noticed any signs but, its the fenced in area at the end of Trinity across from the fair grounds.
You live around here?

Gatcha on the Airaid, thanks. I'll look into it this weekend.

That would be the Communications & Logistics Center, aka C&L Garage. Did you deal with Sgt. Bulloch or Sgt. Pierce? I also have an '04 Crown Vic from C&L that was issued to Lt. Witherspoon.

What year model did you buy?

I'm down by the coast. A straight shot down U. S. 70.

Then yes, hah That would be the place.
Our first vehicle was bought from Sgt. Digh. Not sure who it was issued to.
We were supposed to deal with Sgt. Bulloch but he was not available that week. A gentleman in the office had put it on hold for us. The next day we had dealt with a wonderful lady, I can't remember her name. She was very pleasant and helpful during the process.

Its an 07

Nice, you took a little ride for it. Its worth every mile.
