My blower has quit. I have replaced the resistor 3 times. The last time was the splice a new one in. Still nothing. Blower motor works fine. Please help.

Could you clarify; did your blower quit? Or does it work?

What do you mean by splice the new one in?

Where are you mounting it? Stock location? Or somewhere else?

How did you diagnose a bad resistor?

What else have you checked and how did you check it?

Ok so the blower quit. I did some trouble shooting, and mostly off these forums, determined it was the resistor. Each time I replaced it, it would quit after 5 minutes or so. The auto parts store and different forums said to replace either the new one that has new connectors you splice in. Did that and nothing. Wife is a tad peeved that she has no ac or heat.
This is mounted in stock location.

5 mins consistently sounds like a thermal failure. Is there anything obstructing airflow to the resistor? How's the blower - something causing it to pull more current than it should? Wonder if there's a spec to check resistance on it or something. Not sure if it's brushed or brushless. Quick first check would be to spin it by hand and note if there's any binding. It should turn quite freely.

Fan spins freely, even changed the fan out.
