So I get in my truck this morning when it is a balmy 19 degrees and discovered that my heater\ac fan is not working. I went through all the settings and when I got to high it kinda made a noise and my dash lights kinda flickered so I turned it off. It felt like it was heating up ok as I had preheated for about ten minutes with the fan off but the fan just isn't kicking in. Could this be a short or is it new motor time? 99 tahoe with a 5.7 Thanks for any help.

Leaning more toward the motor since when you turned it on the dash lights flickered. Get to the motor and supply direct power and check the ground.

When I got off work I checked it again and this time it worked -on high only. I replaced the switch summer before last . Could it be bad again?

Is likely the blower motor resistor that controls all the fan speeds. They will either go completely out or stuck at high fan only.

I second the blower motor resistor. Easy fix.. lots of videos on YouTube and the part is available at your local auto parts place.
