212k, 05 LQ4, I have been reading that it's a fairly common on the LQ4. Low Oil pressure is the leading contributer. It causes the center cam bearings to get hot and spin making a mess of things. The good thing is it normally doesn't take out the block and there are bigger OD bearings available for it.How many miles, and what year? Any idea what caused the failure?
Common occurrence if you live in Portland, Oregon. Up and down hills all the time cause the stress on the engine. Gotta change oil every 1000 miles to have a chance.
Has nothing to do with living in portland.
I know it doesn't. I was just saying that to be a turd. I live in Eugene, Or. I hate even getting close to Portland. Ask me why as a PM. Also, when I said it, I think your location on your avatar said Portland. Did you change that since I posted?
