I have tried to Google the subject, and have searched this forum for answers, but no luck.

Factory radio, with a non-working factory cd-player in the center console.
Factory amp. Everything at the amp is connected.

I only have sound coming from the front door speakers and the sub.
Both rear doors and rear pillar tweeters are dead.

The center console is not the factory one, so I don't know if the truck was ever delivered with rear audio controls. There is a harness and connector under there, but the connector doesn't look like the correct one for rear audio...?
See picture 1 of the connector next to the accelerator pedal.

The cd-player is plugged in, but as I mentioned - malfunctioning.

On the back of the factory unit I have two harnesses plugged in.
Probably main harness and cd-player. See picture 2.

I also have a loose connector that I don't know what is or where should be..
It's a female connector, and it fits right on to the cd-player connector.
If I unplug the cd-player connector and plug it in the loose one there is no change. See picture 3.

What are these connectors?
Do you have any tips to where I should start looking?

Thanks
Kai

I have heard of the factory amps in these vehicles being problematic. I always throw my factory stereos in the trash so there is not much I can help you with aside from replacing the factory junk with decent equipment. You can see if its the speakers that are bad, they are cruddy paperweights at best anyway. Your factory amp should be behind the glove box. The rear speaker wires to each speaker should be twisted together; Rears should be Blue and light blue for one side and Brown and Yellow for the other. Use something as a probe to stick in the terminals for the rear speakers on the connector and see if you can get a test speaker to work. Any speaker you might have laying around should work. If the speaker works at the amp, your speakers are bad. If the test speaker doesn't work at the amp then you either have the wrong wire or the amp is bad.

My rear speakers are fine, but they're not getting any signal from the amp.

If it's because the amp itself is bad, or because the amp never recieves a signal, I don't know..

I've read many threads about rear speakers not working, and some say they cut rear sound when the unplugged the cd/cassette. Some say you need the rear controls.

That's why I'm wondering what the connectors are for..

Nobody knows??

The signal goes through the rear audio controls. The rear door speakers and d pillar tweeters are terrible.
