So i finally get my buzzing noise diagnosed. Its the powerboost from the power steering that needs to be replaced/leaking. The guy said he would replace it for $200. I called O'Reillys and they at first could figure out the part. Then after coming back to line they quoted me 248. Autozone was similar however when researching on autozone.com they power steering can either come with hydroboost or without and runs about $50 bucks. Leak coming from power steering pump area in front of engine bay. Any help with what i need to change? Thanks. Have a 6.0.

I don't know what that means?

As far as everything else goes do you have a vacuum brake booster or a hydroboost brake assembly?

I bought my new Delco hydroboost power steering pump for $60 on amazon. The vacuum version should run about the same.

I would question how he plans on changing the part with labor cheaper than the part costs...?

I am getting confused. First offf, I couldn't seem to find the part, but when I did, it is near the master cylinder but I could swear the leak is coming from the power steering area? I need to get more clarification from the mechanic.

Yes, I agree.

If you have hydroboost brakes they utilize power steering fluid/pressue to work. There are multiple hoses that run between the hydroboost unit to your steering box to your power steering pump. We need to know where the leak is...maybe take a few pictures. I know the accumulator on the hydroboost is known to leak as they get older.
