I had it replaced yesterday. About 30 min job. It works fine now. Only ALL locks have to be unlocked for it to operate. 2 fob unlock presses and then it works.
No need for needle noses, plenty of room to get to all the nuts and bolts, as soon as the rear panel is removed.

That's the way mine work.

I also recently got new fobs, that have the remote start button among others. The glass release button works on the fobs. I kept wondering why i had the hatch open warning. Turns out the button was being pressed in my pocket.

The button pulls out from exterior w/ needle nose pliers. New button clips back on harness and button is pushed back in w/o disassembling a thing.
