I may be closing in on the problem. I checked and rechecked every connection and relay I could find near the computer. Every single test checked out. I moved over to the starting relay. The Legg Garage (Jack Legg, proprietor) must have worked on this. A previous owner had put a "system" in the truck and then took it out. It may take a while but I found a BUNCH of butchered wires that need repair.

I cannot stand when people will spend $300 to $500 on a radio and cheap out and butcher wiring rather than spend $20-30 on a plug and play adapter.

Negative information is still information, if for no other reason than it eliminates false paths to follow. The links exp500 sent helped a lot with tracing wiring. Just like my racing days. We'd all help other guys track down problems. On the track, it was competition. In the pits we;d work together.

The same here. I sold the Escalade a while back but a lot of the threads are interesting as well as reminding me of when I raced. On the track, it was every man for himself. In the pits, we'd loan tools, give advice, watch out for each other and so on.

only wish it was like that at work. 3 tool boxes i have to keep locked up or ill be missing stuff. new bigger company is taking over and they want to supply the shop with tools so they aren't technically liable for our property. the other guys are complaining while im handing in a list of tools we need and making arrangements to get all my stuff home in one shot lol.

My company did that years ago when I was still in manufacturing. At first I hated it but it was ok.

I had a small toolbox hidden in my desk when I was still working. Most of my main tools fit in my pocket though. A note book, calculator and cell phone along with a couple of pens. I used them repeatedly every day.

well im not sure they realize the maintenance shop is primarily equipped because of me lol. going to be surprised when the only thing left is a bench and a pedestal mounted grinder. i have a double door knack cabinet i have there i had originally intended to bring more stuff in but i opted to be nice and its a community lock box atm. the original company was being difficult on getting us a drill press so i gave up and brought in a big orbit drill press. and i have a bunch of specialty tools there aswell and im tired of keeping a lockdown on all of it and beating people off my sh....stuff. they tried to take that drill press a few times. them"we need it down at"..... me " i dont care if jesus himself told you to come get it thats my personal property and it stays right here".....them "well can i bring the stuff up here to drill"..... me"no i brought it in for maintenance and special projects use only if you need one tell them to buy you one"
i had actually brought on a small band saw too but we didn't use it that much and one of the other maintenance guys wanted it for his house.
