Hey guys,my name is Scott. I joined up here a few years ago when I had my 95 Tahoe but I never really posted. I was mostly just a lurker. Now I'm ready to get back into a Tahoe as I found a good deal on a 2002 Tahoe LS with 189k miles. But the catch is that the owner said it's losing coolant but he can't find where. No visible coolant leaks, but he said he had to add about a quart or so of coolant every 1,000 miles or so. The truck is in decent shape otherwise, I wouldn't say mint condition but fair for the age.Feels like it could use all new shocks tho. The AC works, pwr windows and locks all work, has a minor oil leak which looks like it's the oil pan gasket. Should I avoid it because of the coolant leak? Or can it be an easy fix? I'm just worried about it being an internal coolant leak. (Oil looks fine by the way) He's asking 1100 for it, but I think I can easily get it for 1000 or $900 Body has a few dents but nothing major. Doesn't appear to have collision damage, just dings and fist sized dents. And best of all, NO rust other than the bumpers and those honestly aren't even that bad.

Welcome back from Miami Beach Scott!

Ask any issues you have with your Tahoe in the 2002 section. Thank you.

Welcome back to the forum from Oregon and like @Miami-Dade said, post the problems in the 2000 to 2006 section of the forum. Also:

We recommend that you put all your rig(s) info in your signature so we all don’t have to guess at year, make, model, engine size, trans, rear axle locker…….etc. While you may have posted pertinent info in your first post, you may forget to do it again and the info is needed by us anyway. Makes it way easier on all members that attempt to help, to have that info right up front. It is also recommended that you take a pic of your RPO codes, on the inside cover of the glove box, and post that image in your signature. All this info will greatly help those that will try to help with a problem.

If there is any other info, like upgrades, mods or recent mechanical/maintenance work done, that would be helpful in any post as well. Too many times a question is asked by the poster and after about 10 responses we find out that the poster has done recent work to attempt to fix the problem or work that was done that SEEMS not related to the problem.
