I hate dealing with dealerships to begin with because most of the time they dont have a clue what they are talking about. So I have had my cluster replaced 4 times already. I am getting real tired of these ****** clusters. 2 of them have squeaked really badly and had issues with the speedometer. One had a problem with just the speedometer and gas gauge. And one had both LCD screens screwed up and you couldn't read them at night or on a bright day. Dealer has now told me that they will not replace my cluster again. My current one squeaks really badly and the speedometer takes forever to get back to 0. I am now dealing with GM customer service trying to get them to fix this horrible situation. I am also fighting with them over my transmission because the dealer screwed up and put Dexron III in it when they rebuilt it instead of the required Dexron VI. The dealer wont admit that they screwed up and says I cant use Dexron VI at all. Sorry for the long rant but I hate trying to be screwed around and getting ****** service. GM should really do some quality checks on there dealers.

I understand your frustrations....:Handshake:
GM has serious management issues, and thats why they are in a bad situation!!
Not Obama's fault like alot of people would try and say....:Plugged:

Hope they make good on it for you but this is the exact reason why I do my own work. I have yet to rebuild one of these 4L65E transmissions but I'm still taking this ***** apart and building it up, can't rely on anyone it seems. I'd suggest finding another dealer or a shop you trust, it's unfortunate but there are alot of sketchy shops out there...even if GM (we the taxpayers) are signing their paycheck doesn't mean they know what the **** they're doing.

dexron VI is not required in your trans. dexron III or equivalent is what they call for. dexron VI can be used, you just cant use anything less than dexron III. the clusters are more than likely a reman. thats how we do it where i work, unless it were covered under a factory warranty, which im guessing yours isnt.

Sounds like a lemon to me

Lemon? it's an 02. I thought that only applied to new vehicles that have a problem that you r constantly taking t the dealer to get fixed without resolve. IDK Anywayz if the clusters keep going bad everytime they put one in then maybe the clusters are fine and something else is causing the cluster to fail, remanu. or not. Most remanu goods are just as good as the new one for a less, especially something that small.

Well my definition of a lemon is ANY car you buy that looks good but you have to take back to the dealer often regardless of year. Mine is an 02 with 135k miles and I havent had to take it back once for anything.
