Around '86, before TCI built the cable system I had the pleasure (?) of driving out every driveable street in DC to see what the cable plant might look like for the design. Marked up a few maps. Did the same for all of Detroit and 3/5 of Chicago. They must be doing some rebuilding to have a couple of strands of cable up there, and that's always a mess.

Building and working cable in the big cities is tough, but it's where the money is. Seeing a lot of rural cable systems getting turned off these days.

Yeah working meaning pulling up to service wires because delivery trucks pull then doenbgoing down the hill
