OBD2.......What do you have ?

That looks involved, all I was interested in was a simple plug in OBD2, forget about monitoring parameters.

It only works with Android phones but you can't beat the price and I have not had a single problem with it. You have to load an app but there are many free ones. I use the free version of Torque.

Looking for advise/suggestion on what you are using. Keeping in mind this is not an open wallet suggestion, something that can be used for monitoring as well as displaying CEL codes while not breaking the bank. Your help would be great.

I bought a Autel 619 on ebay for about $75. works great. does SRS and ABS codes. gave me more info on the code than the bluetooth to smartphone apps do. I have several bluetooth adaptors, all have broke if you leave them on, not to mention, they will drain your battery if you leave it on the obd connector for several days. I also had other things like aftermarket alarm and phone charger plugged in, just be mindful of what is draining the battery is all i am saying.
with the AUtel, i can do data download and look at trims etc on an app that reads it on the PC or from the unit itself.

I kicked out the coin and bought an Edge Evolution programmer for my 08 Avy. I loved it. Dash mounted and came with a housing that went well with the lines of the interior. The newer units are a bit more pricey but they are LCD and graphic based as opposed to the one in my old truck which was just a regular screen (like a calculator). if you are willing to spend the money I was very happy with it.

I just finished doing an automatic ABS bleed using the OTC SPX. It worked really well, way better than the redneck method of slamming on the brakes on a gravel road. For me, the cost of the tool came to a total of $350 us. Updated to version 4.0, 2010 Domestic and Asian.

I second BlueDriver if you don’t want to spend too much money (I paid about $100 CAD). That’s what I used until I got my Tech 2 Chinese clone from eBay. That’s where it’s really at if you can swing it. It’s not crazy expensive either considering what you can do with it and the money you’ll save not going to the dealership. Mine has already paid for itself.

Thanks to members who shared in this dilemma for me. I'm by no means an expert on OBD2 and Droid phone, but I'm amazed @ technology today. I received my BAFX adapter and watched their video for instructions and it went as planned when choosing the Torque app. I took my laptop to the garage and sat in the Tahoe and watched the video again while programing. I found a stored code po141(oxg sensor driver side) that element is not heating, cleared code/light out. To accomplish this, you cannot put a price tag on this experience, I'm bluetoothing!!!!!!!!!!!!
