Ok, so the bluetooth on the z120bt is about as crappy as can be when it comes to people hearing you talk. So I figured I would shut that off, and use the bluetooth on the vehicle itself. Talked to my wife and she can hear me fine, only problem with this now is. Instead of the stereo muting like it should normally do, it would reboot itself. When an incoming/outgoing phone call is made, the whole radio would shut off instead of just muting. Anyone else having this problem, and what type of fix should I be looking at?

Do you have the PAC OS-4?
If so, I have the exact same issue. Its not really an issue because that is just how they work. Mine will shut off completely anytime anything tied into the Onstar is activated.

You can wire it to the mute wire on the stereo....check out the last sentence on the first page regarding the Mute Loop :D

PAC OS-4 Install Instructions

I just installed an OS-4 along with a Pioneer D3 in my truck last week, and I remember reading it :D

Thanks Mauro for pointing that out, I had a suspicion of that when installing. But I wasn't sure how to cut and wire which brown wire when doing the install so didn't bother. Guess I will have to take my unit apart again this weekend to figure out how to wire that brown wire.

"• The Mute loop (if not cut) will turn the ACC. output off when an OnStar or Bluetooth call is made or received. If the aftermarket radio has a mute input cut this loop and connect the outer brown wire to the mute input." just have to figure which is the outer brown wire :).

Thanks for pointing that out Mauro.
I don't use Onstar at all so I will leave my loop intact for the sake of not having to pull the unit out the dash for the 6th time in abit over a month.

Its the one on the corner of the harness plug, spot 10. Thats the Mute output on the OS-4 so it'll send your H/U the mute signal when a call comes through over the OnStar bluetooth :D

Thanks for pointing that out Mauro.

Yeah, I don't use OnStar at all either, but I kind of like being able to shut ACC power to my D3....its known to have the screen freeze up sometimes and the only solution is to power the unit off and on, unfortunately the D3's don't have a true "on/off" switch, so now I just hold the mute button on the SWC and it cuts ACC power so I can "reboot" it :D

I actually wired a switch on my '04 HD so I could shut it on and off :D

I ran my mic through the headliner and have it sitting right on top of my rear view mirror, the most inconspicuos spot I could think of. I have heard of people putting it near the A pillar to get it to work fine. Where do you have yours?
