What are you demanding of the battery?

The yellow is a deep cycle great for winching, welding, running your stereo forever & still being able to start...

The red top has 800 cca...but if you ever run the thing to dead they don't always recover. Sometimes, once it's dead...it's done.

Blue is for marine applications...

I've had kinda bad luck with the red ones, I have a blue one in my boat and love it, and never owned a yellow!

I've had both. N Physh1 is right on about both. Red tops, in my experience, have not recovered very well to at all once drained COMPLETELY. they are great for CCA that they produce. I've had 2 red tops in classic cars for the CCA, and both expired once they got drained completely. I've since switched to yellow tops, and running one now, and so far i love it, and it has 750 CCA and 870 CA. That being said, either Red or Yellow Top Optima batteries are great, and I will always use an Optima battery personally. Blues are supposed to be best of both worlds.
