Wow what a bunch of children we have here. Grown ass men telling poeple that just spent $70k+ their shit sucks and it's obsolete. I thought this was a place to collaborate on a common interest we all have. Grow the hell up and talk about information that brings value to all of us. I bet most of these *******'s that are saying the 2015 sucks aren't old enough to even drive or just can't afford such a truck. It's getting really hard to read these forums with people that don't know what they're talking about. What i can't wait for is when someone like us actually gets beside their brand new 8 speed and tell us how great it is. All we have now are *******'s that see 8 speed on paper saying it's the best transmission that's ever come out in the history of automotive without even seeing any specs\tests from the manufacturer.

I think most are basing their statements on their experience with other manufacturers' 8 speeds, which, by and large, have proven to be markedly superior to their six speed units (BMW, Audi, etc.). Initial takes on the Corvette's new 8 speed also appear to be very positive. Who can argue with better acceleration, smoother shifts and better fuel economy? Also, I don't really think that anyone is being a ******* about it. In fact, the criticism that GM half-assed the release of this car as it pertains to the transmission issue is very valid. To be relieved that they didn't spend $70K plus only to find out that GM had been hiding this in their back pocket is fair.

I think I have carried myself as an adult, so when something is posted that may discredit my character, it needs to be posted on the same forum.

I agree with everything you just said. All I was saying was chill on putting everyone down about thier 2015 purchase. And I'm not crying like a little ***** about it all I was saying it's getting really old.

Chill George I enjoy your posts here and the Cadillac forums. Not directed at you.
I agree 100% with you GM unloaded thier 6 speed inventory on us but it doesn't suck.

I think you are being overly sensitive to the 6 speed thing.
Since GM has blocked me out for over 7 months, I currently have an option. I am choosing to wait further for the 8, as I am sure you would if given the same scenario.
I would never "rub" something as silly as a transmission in to anyone here. That would make me a jack ass and childish. That was never my intent, so I hope you understand that. If I insinuated differently somehow, and if my post was taken out of context, I apologize. When using the word "thrilled", at least I have some small victory here, and I see how you may have taken offense to that.. My anger lays directly on the way GM does business.

I think I have posted many times that if I had my choice, I would have taken the 6 and enjoyed the vehicle for this past summer.
I still feel the same way. For those who have been enjoying their 2015 vehicles, know that we have been stuck in our 10' Tahoe when we would have rather been traveling in a new Denali with a hydromatic 2 speed.... enjoying the vehicle is worth more than waiting for any trans update IMO. We are going on two trips. One to DC, and the other to the Outer Banks in our old truck. Pisses me off..

What sucks here is GM. We all were screwed in different ways.

btw you being a Ford guy you should know GM's not the only manufacturer that unloads inventory on new models. Isn't the new 2015 aluminum F150 coming with a 6 speed?

Just clogs a useful thread with nonsense. Maybe bring it over to the lounge then. [emoji106]

I believe an 8 speed..before the 10 speed coming..

Ford is the WORST at updating. Like the new 2003 Navigator being repackaged as a 2015?

I drive Ford Duty trucks. I love them as my sports car and store them in the winter. My current truck is a 600/1,200 tq 2008. as I was eagerly waited to order a new 2011, I found out that the basic look was still the same with an unproven Ford built diesel, so I waited for the next round
The all new 2015 was coming and I was ready to order again, same body, fenders. cab. So I passed again.
Now..finally.. an all aluminum Super Duty version is suppose to come out in the spring of 16' as a 17'
I might be dead from old age before they finally change the look, but here's hoping......

I know man you just happend to be the last posts so it looked like my comments were thrown at you. I was on vacation the last week and this morning catching up on the forums all I read is what a shit head I am for buying this truck. Really doest bother me i could care less. I'm pretty fortunate to be able to trade mine back in and not feel it but I'm not that stupid. And I'd be lying to you if I told you I didn't want the 8 speed. I'm a gear head so I would love it but it just didn't work out that way and I'm super happy with the 6 speed. But there might be poeple here that saved up a long time to buy their dream truck they intent to keep for a very long time. They want to come here to learn about the truck not to hear how bad it sucks because it has a great 6 speed.
