Looking to buy some offroad wheels (preferably black). In your guys professional opinion considering performance... what is the best offroad wheel? Pictures would help. Thanks

Well there is a lot to consider here to be honest are you looking for durability? or looks?

And what do you mean by performance? in most cases the rim has no effect on your off road ability until you do something extreme like a Bead lock. other than that weight won't really matter . But my advice if your going for the off road look and want the best choice in tires 16-17 are best suited . remember the larger the rim the smaller the tire = rougher ride and issues with Bead protection . this also applies to Choices in Tire. Im kicking my self for buying 18s because the interco SS's only go up to a 17… Im an inch shy and a dollar short now lol

If your looking for a cheaper set a soft 8 in black is a good choice , easily cover up scratches and wear , Ive had good luck with my choice A KMC Revolver . IMO looks better than the over popular Rockstars 1st gen . The new Rockstar 2s look amazing however.

so I need more input as to what exactly you want out of them

I guess I should have stated some real offroading. I already have the "look" with a pretty sweet set of wheels, but if I ever get in a bind and need to really get offroad and not worry about scratches and such which would be the best option? I'd like something that handles mud well, cleans easily (mud), and is easy to repair scratches... but also tough as nails.

I love my current wheels, but they hold onto mud like a magnet. I'm afraid if I ever need to seriously get offroad that I'd get bogged down pretty quick. I'm not out to tear up my tahoe... I baby the heck out of it. However, I bought it to use as a long distance hunting/camping vehicle and I'm sure there will be times I need to get in some serious muck.

Thanks guys

I'll definitely check out the site. As far as budget, I don't know... I don't want to go nuts. I already have a nice set of wheels, so the cheaper the better, but I don't want junk either. If that makes sense.

I picked these up for my sons truck. They have great reviews and for styling/looks, you can't beat it for the price.

Steel is what you want if you are looking for a cheap tough wheel. Aluminum can crack if you hit the wheel just right. Steel will just bend in most cases. The smaller the wheel, the better (usually).

Every wheel is going to cake up with mud, god forbid you have to get out and poke the mud out with a stick... Caked wheels aren't really going to bog you down. Their are many other factors that will do that.

What size tires and wheels are you looking at?
