rings need time to seat nice in the cylinder walls could start it at 5k really but most of what i read says fuel mileage improves around 10k. so that should be ideal.

But there's no downside to running synthetic over conventional right off the bat is my point?

Yeah it really stands out.

I call it as I see it.

If someone gives bad advice, I call it.

If some 19 year old wants to gut his cats to make his truck faster, I'm gonna call it.

If someone has a funny story like "I was changing my oil and someone took my truck for a drive while it was bone dry", I'm gonna laugh about it.

The big "thing" about using dyno oil was it had other additives (zinc, ddp) to assist with cam break-in, if you have a Vortec engine you have a roller cam, there is no break in period for those.

You want to use regular oil for about 5000 miles for the rest of the engine to "wear" in a little. Synthetic doesn't allow that to happen since the friction is greatly reduced using it.

That being said, there are new cars that roll out of the factory with synthetic. I don't know if maybe they are designed to do that? Maybe someone else can chime in on that one.

I ran regular for 5000 miles in my new motor then switched to Mobile 1.

I already chimed in, it was for cam break in, there is no cam break in with rollers ...
