Oil Filter Leak? Maybe?

Well I guess my problem was looking at the vids and surfing other forums. I was thinking mine had a set up like these pics. But the parts guy says no.

Hope you're luckier than me. I replaced mine with an ICT billet plate and still have a leak. Mine's probably rear main...since I've done every gasket and sensor known to leak on these things.

Can't you see the rear main through the inspection hole?

I’ve been chasing a drip on the inside starter bolts for like 3 years lol. Mechanic said it was “definitely” the rear main. But that inspection cover off, dry as a bone. Who knows.

Replaced it once, didn’t make any difference. Hard to tell though, maybe

You gotta crawl on top of the motor from the driver's side and use a small mirror and flashlight. I invested $16 for a borescope from Amazon that connects to my phone or laptop. It has a light on the end. I use it all the time. I bought it so I could look in through the spark plug hole to see the condition of the pistons and cylinder walls on my Harley!

I’m betting valley or main, but I’ll crawl up there one of these days and recheck. Wouldn’t be surprised if I didn’t get it tight enough or something since working blind back there
