me too lol ever break out the hammer and screw driver? i did, i dont recommend that one lol its a disaster.......but once you rip the filter body off you can hammer the ring free pretty easy, but getting there is a adventure for sure lol
That's exactly what I had to do, and it sucked. I think it was on my Camaro.

Reflecting on this, we crushed more than a few stubborn filters with the pliers but very few with the strap wrench. It's the strap wrench that lets us break them loose near the bottom or most exposed part of the filter. These problems only happen now with new (to us) cars that enter our stables or on the rare occasion my wife went to help me out when I was sick and had someone else do the oil change. EVERY single time they screwed it up over the years.

I've been using a wrench like this for at least 15 years. Just did an oil change with it last night..No issues. How are you getting them stuck? Lube the oring when I hand tighten them only. Still got my Hulk strength lol. There is some resistance but they come off and don't leak between oil changes. b1d92250e96c1c05dd80bad84118ef43.jpg

Got it for the Hoe and my Express van. Van has the LS motor, so I'm good. Only thing that sux is the oil drips down the filter once it's cracked loose. Sometimes down my arm if I'm not quick enough.
