Fellas,

I have a large oil leak from the rear of my engine, probably a half a quart every two months. When I wipe it down it starts to drip within a day. I can't see the engine where it is up against the firewall, of course, so I am hoping there is a common place someone can describe to me that this leak typically comes from before I waste my time replacing the oil pressure sender gasket.

Rear main seal is a common leak for vehicles as they get up in age and/mileage and can be difficult to pin point.

Other locations may be valley cover, oil pressure sender, cam sensor (o-ring), oil cooler/block-off, or oil pan.

Clean up the old oil, add dye to the engine oil and drive it, then check with UV flashlight.
