very very slow
now with my tahoe when this happened the mechanic shop i took it to told me it was the rear main seal and when they pulled the tranny they said my bad its not the rear main seal it was some other seal
so is there a way to confirm its the rear mainseal before i start pulling shit apart

Are you sure it's engine oil?

Pull the inspection cover off the bottom of the bell-housing and take a look at what the inside of the bell-housing looks like. Coated in oil? If so, is it engine oil or ATF?

I have a post of the same problem. I am guessing it's the cam sensor leaking beside the oil pressure sensor. I have my 6.0 on the engine stand getting it ready and looking for where the oil is seeping from. That seems to me to be the only place. I also thought the rear main was no good. But it's fine. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

That the rear view and that's the cam sensor. There is an o-ring at the bottom but nothing at the top. Not sure why but seems to be oil comming out from where the sensor mounts.
I replaced the o-ring and put a small amount of silicone at the mounting surface and going to try that. Hope that helps you.

SLCHOE what do you think ?

I now know why there isn't a gasket or seal at the top of the cam sensor. On the weekend I power washed off the 6.0 on the engine stand. After all the crud was off I looked at the sensor area and noticed it is open at the back of the block going in to the engine. A pic will follow later to explain better. So for where the oil is comming from at the top and rear of the motor only looks like one place left. The belly pan gasket.
I have to take the intake off anyway so I am going to look into it and see if it gets loose or blows out.
To be continued
