Oil life reset - reverting back to old value

Hi all, have a 2004 Tahoe and trying to reset the oil life back to 100% from it's current value of 45%. I don't have the steering wheel controls but did do the DIY conversion with momentary switches so I can have access to the stuff the steering wheel controls give you. When I reset it, it does say it's reset and goes to 100%. Then, the next time I get back into the vehicle it says 45% again. I have tried it several times both with the switch and the gas peddle method. Always says reset at that time but the next time I fire up the Tahoe it's back to 45%

Anyone every seen this or have any ideas?

Just a little more information regarding this. I've been driving it for the last several days and it doesn't seem the oil life indicator percent is going down. It's just stuck at 45%. I've owned this Tahoe brand new since 2004 and also have a 2005 Tahoe/2002 Silverado/2011 Suburban. I've never seen anything like this.

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
