Just purchased a 07 yukon xl denali awd with 100k. I was told by my mechanic that the oil pan is seepin and leaking. He also told to have the dealer change it cause of labor. is this something that needs to be done asap I have been checking the oil level and has been ok so far, small drips in drive way. In NJ if anyone has a mechanic they trust to do this let me know.

Why would your mechanic not want to do the work. It's not that hard.

It's just a few bolts and a cross member, isn't it? Get some ramps and pull it yourself. A ratchet, oil change supplies and a new gasket should be all you need. Unless I'm missing something, it's not labor intensive at all. I guess if he's busy then it's his loss...but the job isn't that hard. An hour tops on your own...with a lift and air tools, 20 minutes.

Seriously? Damn. Clearly they changed the layout substantially for the NNBS trucks then. It was a simple job on my suburban.
