What part # did you order and which manufacturer?

I just looked yours up at RA and is the same part number as mine, AC/GM 12677836. In the same application at RA, Dorman lists a sender, 926040, and a screen and show the pic but there is no place to put the screen so that is wasted money. You will not need that screen and hopefully you can get $ back for it. I do see at Amazon the AC Delco #12677836 is $20.50 and I assume that is what you ordered.

I bought that sensor off Amazon and the parts store said they had the screen i didn't actually buy the screen yet. Guess I don't need the screen. Sweet

I don't know if this will help but 03 to 06 Tahoes had faulty instrument clusters. I had a 04 and same thing happened to me, oil pressure gauge pegged out at 80 psi while driving on the freeway. The dealership swapped it out no charge because it was a GM technical service bulletin. This was a while ago, so not sure if dealerships will still swap it for free.

Several threads on here about Digital Dash Solutions for their $250 free shipping custom clusters. Is quick and easy and great turn around and help if needed. You can even get the transmission temp gauge added for the same fee and that is plug and play.
