Honestly, give us a pic of your COLD dipstick.

I know it's dumb, but sounds like low oil.
I can never tell, because all of the holes have oil in them. But there’s actual oil on the bottom! Don’t judge me! If I didn’t get a free apartment with my Jon I’d consider going to school for mechanics..

I have used a oil flush machine and they work great. But they use a filter to catch the trash. I have never tried with just flush additive, I would be nervous with out the machine. Back in the day we would us transmission fluid at idle for like 30 minutes. But try at your own risk.

the big concern on doing a flush on an engine with alot of miles is knocking a chunk of sludge lose. there is a chance you could plug something up

Doubtful but not impossible you had 2 bad pressure sensors. There are different ways to check oil pressure but I'm not familiar with your engine for the location of the oil galley plugs, but I imagine some on here will mention their locations. I think a remote oil filter adapter would work and be easier to reach than the sending unit.

okay! Luckily I'm off this weekend, so I'll look more into it, am I crazy and need oil, or is that how my dipstick is supposed to be? this ******* doesn't know how to read a dipstick apparently.

Level *seems* to look okay on the dipstick, but always check both sides and read the lowest level of oil on the stick. Do it on level ground and let the truck sit for a while before checking, giving the oil time to drain down out of the heads.

Yeah it sat for a good 4 hours after I drove it to work (300 feet away, I’m just too lazy to walk) and the parking lots are new and level! So I’m thinking I got it screwed in 90% of the way, and had maybe two or three threads left on the oil pressure sensor, and I couldn’t get the strength to tighten, keep in mind I was laying on top of my engine in the dark working on this haha. But I’m going to the Casino tonight, so who knows. Maybe I’ll win enough to just buy a new engine and replace the whole damn thing, logical right?

Hey guys! Looking for suggestions, my
Oil pressure when I start my car is fine. As soon as I start driving, and it gets up to temp, every time I stop at a light or anything, it bottoms out to zero and my check gauges light comes on. I just replaced my oil pressure sensor. And that didn’t seem to fix it. Any other suggestions as to what it could be?!?!

I had a similar problem on a 2001 5.3l suburban. Replaced the -O" ring on the dip tube that sucks oil out of the pan to feed the oil pump. A defective "O" ring was allowing the oil pump to suck air along with oil. Symptoms were low oil pressure at low rpm and flickering oil pressure on the dash gauge.
