Hey guys I got around to doing my oil pan gasket today which I think is the culprit to my leak since it was factory and never been changed in 241k miles. I did the oil pump pickup tube o ring too. It was a bluish green one that was in good shape. I replaced with a new red flepro one. Is that a factory o ring or did some one go in there and replace it?

The one in my silvy was a reddish orange color. Replaced it with the felpro red and it's been fine. I did quite a bit if looking before I did the trucks, and apparently there were a few colors used.... so I guessed.

The Green one is the Original. You will have much better oil pressure now.

Oil could make a red one turn orange

it was in really good shape and it did not crack and fall apart on me like the red one I replaced on a previous truck I owned. It has great normal oil pressure with no issues before hand. The problem was is my oil pan gasket was leaking so I replaced the o ring as cheap insurance while I had it apart. If that is an original o ring, it went 240k with still more life left to go.

I thought the red one was for the trucks. The green and black ones went on the cars.

That's what about 80 percent of the info I found said. But here is another case that the green could have been in a truck as his is green. So apparently gm did whatever it wanted at the time.
