I've been reading about everyones lifting questions and experiences. I got a trail master 6" lift, today I bought 35" mud terrain pro comp and 16" flat black pro comp wheels. My tahoe is a 96 and the shop I bought the lift from said I will need to get a cross member from a 2 door chevy truck. Is this true? Also I read about cv's being flat or not being flat. What will I need to do to get a slight rake in the front?

One more thing with the specs described above do think that's the best wheel and tire combo for my lift? I want the best off road look but was afraid I may have gone to small with the rim size but I wanted a lot of tire? Should I have gone with a bigger rim and tire or is my combo perfect?? I'm excited about what I got I just wanted a 2nd opinion from the veterans like Bowtiefreak, etc. Thank you for any tips. Sorry for being such a noob!

same rim and tire size i have on mine, haven't had a single problem. more sidewall is good for being off road.

never heard of the crossmember swap though.

you may end up with a slight rake depending on how worn your rear leafs are. depending on if the shop cranks your front end or not, you could crank it an inch or so to get your desired rake.

Sounds like the truck has a perfect stance with the 6" and 35s. What are teh fenders measuring front and rear? by cranking or uncranking teh torsion keys you can gain or lose the rake in the front. Takes a few minutes. pics please.

Ok cool. Stock I got 5 1/4 space right now front and back with 245/75/16 all terrian tires. I'm going to see if I need the crossmember, if not I will have it done Tuesday. If I do need them I will have it done next weekend.

The reason they said you need a cross member is because on the 4 door Tahoes the torsion bar cross member is suspended from two small links rather then bolted to the frame like on the trucks and 2 door Tahoes.
I know on my RCX lift I had to buy special brackets to use the existing crossmember, but I dont know if Trail Master has that same option.

Ok thanks for the tip. I can't find a cross member anywhere so we'll see what happens, its being installed Saturday :)
