So when you had the dist in the first time, it wasn't seated in all the way to the manifold? If the oil pump isn't lined up correctly you won't get the dist in all the way. Glad to hear its running again though.

No, it was seated all the way. Got the hold down deal on it, bolted it down. I don't know- it went back in the way it came out and it was still wrong.

Dude, if you're comfy doing the manifold gasket, the pittman and idler arms will be cake. I did a how-to for you in the tech section.
